    PRVF-5636 , PRVF-5637 - DNS reponse time errors

currently trying to setup RAC and installing GRID infrastructure. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2, Oracle (p10404530)

      [grid@redhatnode2 ~]$ uname -a
      Linux redhatnode2 2.6.32-279.5.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Jul 24 13:57:35 EDT 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Setup is failing because of DNS issues:

PRVF-5636 : The DNS response time for an unreachable node exceeded "15000" ms on following nodes: redhatnode2  - Cause:  The DNS response time for an unreachable node exceeded the value specified on nodes specified.  - Action:  Make sure that 'options timeout', 'options attempts' and 'nameserver' entries in file resolv.conf are proper. On HPUX these entries will be 'retrans', 'retry' and 'nameserver'. On Solaris these will be 'options retrans', 'options retry' and 'nameserver'.

Evertyhing seems correct (at least to me):

      [grid@redhatnode2 ~]$ time nslookup not-known

      ** server can't find not-known: SERVFAIL

      real     0m0.077s
      user     0m0.002s
      sys     0m0.017s

      [grid@redhatnode2 ~]$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
      search testnode.int
      options timeout: 1
      options attempts: 2

      [grid@redhatnode2 ~]$ cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
      <.... snip ...>
      hosts: files dns
      <.... snip ...>

      Any hints?
