It has been relocated from the Generic Libux forum to the Oracle Linuc forum, as requested..
However you do happen to be asking a generic question that is not specific to Oracle's Linux, excluding other Linux distributions.
Additionally, after glancing at your forum history, I hope your not expecting database-specific scripting commands or application-specific scripting commands to be a part of your question.
That wouldn't belong in any Linux forum.
i have already tried that...
below is thru the secureCRT terminal
below is directly from the os
[root@rac1 /]# cat /etc/sysctl.conf | xclip Error: Can't open display: (null)

[root@rac1 ~]# vi tet [root@rac1 ~]# tail -100 /var/log/messages | xclip [root@rac1 ~]# vi test [root@rac1 ~]# cat /etc/sysctl.conf | xclip [root@rac1 ~]# vi test [root@rac1 ~]# echo 'hello' | xclip [root@rac1 ~]# vi test
What clipboard are you talking about? Do you mean the clipboard of your remote system, the clipboard of your terminal session or the clipboard of your host system? Can you give an example what you are trying to accomplish?
Perhaps you simply want to redirect (append) output? e.g.:
cat /etc/sysctl.conf >> testfile
tail /var/log/messages >> testfile
echo "hello" >> testfile
