After installing OSB on solaris client, i tried to ping from admin server(obtool). I got below error message.
"Error: can't connect to NDMP server on % (address %) - timeout waiting for connection status message"
Please help me to resolve the above said issue.
Thanks in advance,
So something is stopping the admin server from being able to see observiced on the client. Check on the client /usr/tmp/observiced.log to see if there were any problems starting up. The webmin installation on Solaris will use port 10000 by default so that needs to be changed if it is started.
Yeah i checked and there is no error on that log /usr/tmp/observiced.log. When i executed a third party script to find out the apps running the port 10000.
Its showing observiced and some oracle middleware apps are using the port 10000 with different PID.
Yes that is described on the OSB documentation, but TCP port 10000 is quite specifically reserved (in /etc/services) for NDMP, so only that should be using it. Anything else is badly configured.
Even after changing the port at admin/media server and clients, there is no use.
When i firing a backup, its shows Backup has been completed with " Communication to client is failure"
Please help me to resolve this issue
