How to throw User defined exception from JAX WS webservice

I want to throw user defined exception from my web service class..
I created DatabaseConnectionException class.
and calling it inside my web service class. Both class are under same package.
but when I am trying to deploy web service on OC4J it prompting with following error.
Error instantiating compiler: Web service artifact generation failed:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: genericwebservice/DatabaseConnectionException
