      Hi,
on FSCM9 and tools 8.49 , datbase Oracle 11g ,when we enter :
       AEFÉDIC
for example , cobol reads it as
      AFEÃ?DIC
Is there any solution for that ?

      Thank you

What's the character set of the database (unicode/non-unicode) ? Value of NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS ?
When you said "cobol read ...", what do you mean exactly ?

          Nicolas.

            thanks Nicolas,

            it is a non-unicode system.
            SQL> show parameter NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS

            NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
            ------------------------------------ ----------- ----------
            nls_length_semantics                 string      BYTE
To answer to "cobol read ...", what do you mean exactly ?

I contacted developer that has this problem. There is a trace file in which he can see the modification. The value was KÉHL.SETG and intrace file it is as you see :
            Bind-29, type=SQLPBUF, length=10, value=KÉHL.SETG
and this prevents to find the row to update then "0 row updated" is returned.
