    788793
      Hi All,

      Platform - 11gR2 on RHEL5.5

      Want to create a Data Guard using RMAN. I don't want to use the rman duplicate.

      Can anyone provide the steps in primary, standby step by step.

                Hi,

                First restore spfile, restore controlfile after that you can restore database.
                And you must restore controlfile as standby controlfile.

                    Yes you need to cataloging the backup location on standby..

                    Have you created the standby controlfile? ..If you have the standby controlfile then restore the archive log. perform recovery using

                    SQL > ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE USING CURRENT LOGFILE DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;

                    Cheers

                            Are you sure you open that link http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25608/create_ps.htm#i63561 ??

                            There is no duplicate steps on that link in fact see table 3-2 Creating a Physical Standby Database

                              Please check Fiedi Z's link. I think link is very helpful for you.
                              and on my video first standby database creation is not using RMAN.
                              Please check it.
