We have a Sun 7420 storage system exporting an nfs file system to an OEL 5.8 virtual machine. The end user is complaining about performance issues. I'm seeing the following error in the output of dmesg:
nfs_stat_to_errno: bad nfs status return value: 88
The file system is being mounted with the following options:
mount -o rw,bg,hard,nointr,timeo=600,wsize=32768,tcp,vers=3,actimeo=0,rsize=32768 <filesystem> <mountpoint>
The value of "88" doesn't correspond to any value listed in the RFC.
Can anyone shed some light on what this error is, and why it might be reported?
