    Restoring a 'noisy' database?

Hi, i'm fairly new to oracle and i need to restore a production database for testing in my development environnement. This database has jobs running, fax and emails are sent frequently and reports are running. I only have access to the backup. What should i consider when restoring? Is there a way to shut down everything during the restore? Can i set the JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES to 0 and wait for the running jobs to stop?
