          Dear BenK,

          I read the helpful posts of friends. I hope the following steps help you:

          *1) What about your etc/hosts how does it look like?*

          *2) Edit tnsname.ora to be* (I think the service name is case-sensitive. So, orcl is not as ORCL)
          orcl =
               (DESCRIPTION =
                     (ADDRESS_LIST =
                             (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node6.node6-pc.com)(PORT = 1521))
                     )
                    (CONNECT_DATA =
                          (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
                     )
               )
          *3) Edit listener.ora to be* (the service name as I said is case-sensitive). Also, make sure about the ORACLE_HOME
          LISTENER =
            (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
              (DESCRIPTION =
                (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST =node6.node6-pc.com)(PORT = 1521))
              )
            )
          SID_LIST_LISTENER =
            (SID_LIST =
              (SID_DESC =
                (GLOBAL_DBNAME = orcl)
                (SID_NAME = orcl)
                (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1)
              )
            )
          ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER = ON
          ADR_BASE_LISTENER = /u01/app/oracle
          *4) Edit sqlnet.ora to be*
          SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
          NAMES.DIRECTORY_PATH= (TNSNAMES)
          *5) Restart the listener*

          6) Please, mark the post as helpful or correct if it is so. :)

          Best Regards
          Mahmoud

                  Aman....
                  It looks like that the lower case used by you did the trick. Can you post the contents of your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora and the output of the command lsnrctl services ? Please use the tags to format the output and for how-to, see the FAQ on the top-right corner.

                  Aman....
