    Application Designer Won't Start

My Application Designer is refusing to start. I get the following error everytime;-

File: SQL Access ManagerSQL error. Stmt #: 2 Error Position: 0 Return: 8097 - Oracle initialization error

I am running PeopleTools 8.51 and have Oracle Client installed on my machine.

A locally installed SQLDeveloper is working without any issues. However I am having issues with Discoverer as well.

Anyone seen anything similar and is there a workaround please?

      Many Thanks

Check the entries in Configuration Manager and verify whether all settings are correct.

Since sql developer is working connectivity from your workstation to the server can be established.
sql developer uses jdbc drivers to connect to the database.

Application Designer uses Oracle Client 32 bit to connect to the database.
Make sure you have Oracle Client 32 bit installed on your workstation, even is your workstation is an 64 bit OS, and make sure your tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora reflect the ones that that on your db server. Your dba can help you with this.
