Hi, I'm new in the Oracle enviroment... i downloaded the Oracle XE 10 and installed it, but I don't know how to create a New Data Base (for example: "miNewBD" with my own tables). How can I do that?? I still create a new user, but the BD is the same that the in the installation.

      Thanks!!

          Hello,
in Oracle one Database contains several user/schematas which contains the table/data.

In Oracle XE the default database name is XE. So the database is already created.

          Hope this helps

              Hello,
look in the Oracle "Database Express Edition Installation Guide" (put it in google) there you will find all restrictions.

Oracle XE can have only one Intance (database)

PS: Sorry you can install Standard Edt. or Enterprise Edt. which can have more instances/databases.
              regards
              Peter

you can create new database in XE but you have to create it manually by running create database statement. DBCA is not available in XE.

3.2 Oracle Database XE Installation and Execution Restrictions

On a single computer, only one installation of the Oracle Database XE software can be performed. This does not affect any existing installation or new installations of Oracle Database 10 g Standard Edition, Oracle Database 10 g Standard Edition One, or Oracle Database 10 g Enterprise Edition. In addition, users can run only one instance of the Oracle Database XE database on each individual computer. To run more than one Oracle Database server instance or install more than one copy of the database software, upgrade to Oracle Database 10 g Standard Edition, Oracle Database 10 g Standard Edition One, or Oracle Database 10 g Enterprise Edition.
