What did you configure: YUM Repository (Local)
What OS: Linux - RHEL5
[oracle@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-164.el5 #1 SMP Tue Aug 18 15:51:54 EDT 2009 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
[root@localhost ~]# yum repolist
Loaded plugins: rhnplugin, security
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.
repolist: 0That's the problem. You don't have a repository defined and yum cannot retrieve package metadata to determine software dependencies and updates. Unfortunately, RHEL, unlike Oracle Linux, does not provide public access to software updates and you need to pay for a Red Hat subscription to have access to the service.
