    Migration of production database from AIX to Linux

      Hello Everyone,

      I need your suggestion for migrating our production database from AIX and Linux .Please find the details below.

      Source(AIX) ENDIAN-FORMAT is BIG.  Target(LINUX) ENDIAN_FORMAT is LITTLE.

      1) Our database size is 5 TB running on 11g R2
      2)We will get the minimal downtime (6 to 7 hrs).

      Please let us which method would the best of below.Please provide the doc in detail steps.

      a)RMAN
      b)Dataguard Heterogeneous Primary and Physical Standby
      c)Oracle streams

            Changing platforms requires the database be re-built and / or the data moved using one of the following methods:
            1.Export / Import.
            2.Transportable Tablespaces.
            3.RMAN Convert Database functions.
            4.Streams Replication.
            5.Create Table As Select.
            6.Dataguard Heterogeneous Primary and Physical Standbys.
            7.Oracle Golden Gate.

            But each way has its own limitation usually you have to know that "RMAN Convert Database only works if both source and destination belong to the same ENDIAN format."
            so in your case you can use "Transportable Tablespaces"
