powering on added server asset in OpsCenter

Hi, we're new to opscenter at our company. Running 12c 12.1.0.0.0 (b2001) in evaluation purposes.
The enterprise controller is running on s11 and, beside the colocated proxycontroller, one is being setup on our labnetwork.
What we want to checkout is a pure vanilla install (S10 u10 /x86 on a x4100-M2) connected to this labnetwork.
Having it managed (through "Manually declare a server to be a target of OS provisioning") and placed In Maintenance Mode
I expected it should be possible to apply a deployment plan after this, but displaying its status, the dashbord/summary panes
under "all assets" shows "Power: Off" with the "Power on"/"Power off" actions being shaded (i.e not selectable)
The only action with regard to changing its power status is "Power On with Network Boot".
Trying this results in the error popup;

An Error Was Encountered
.......................................................................
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
Action Performed:           Power On with Network Boot

Is this a product defector or do we overlooking something?
