      hi All,

I get the "PAMS__RESRCFAIL, Failed to allocate resource" error in my UNIX operating system. I have the following BMQ processes running on the server.

Pid Process Name State Prio Time CPU User
      12956 dmqgcp S 59 0:00 0:00 bmq
      13720 dmqjourn S 59 0:00 0:00 bmq
      13725 dmqld S 58 0:00 0:00 bmq
      12962 dmqqe S 59 0:01 0:01 root
      13721 dmqsbs S 59 0:00 0:00 bmq

I have another server where i have the follwoing BMQ processes running (dmqld process running more than once) and in this server i do not get the error.

Pid Process Name State Prio Time CPU User
      4034 dmqgcp S 59 0:33 0:33 bmq
      4524 dmqjourn S 53 16:28 16:28 bmq
      15699 dmqld S 57 3:13 3:13 bmq
      24817 dmqld S 58 0:57 0:57 bmq
      4532 dmqld S 59 0:12 0:12 bmq
      4545 dmqld S 59 0:12 0:12 bmq
      4546 dmqld S 59 0:17 0:17 bmq
      4547 dmqld S 59 0:14 0:14 bmq
      4548 dmqld S 58 0:14 0:14 bmq
      4549 dmqld S 51 0:58 0:58 bmq
      4551 dmqld S 59 0:26 0:26 bmq
      5280 dmqld S 59 0:18 0:18 bmq
      4048 dmqqe S 59 20:07 20:07 root
      4525 dmqsbs S 59 0:10 0:10 bmq

Can somebody help me with a resolution for the "PAMS__RESRCFAIL, Failed to allocate resource" erro? also can someone explain me on the dmqld process and its use for having many instances?

      Thanks!

"PAMS__RESRCFAIL, Failed to allocate resource" error indicates that the calling to memory allocate routines (malloc(), calloc() or realloc()) failed. As you known, there are a lot of possible causes of allocate memory failed. I think if you can monitor the process's memory, you may find the root cause or get some valuable clues.

          And,
The "dmqld" is the process working as LinkDriver, the count of "dmqlod" processes running at the same time is decided by how many Cross-group Connections are configured in this host.

            hi Lingato,

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs. Can you please explain me a little more on cross-group connections? This will help me look for any clue in our application architecture.

The cross-group connections are defined in the %XGROUP(the cross-group connection table) section of the init file. You can reference the e-doc(http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13203_01/tuxedo/msgq/unixic/5three.htm#2291) for more details.
