Pl identify which exact version of Oracle you are installing. If you want to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, the ORACLE_BASE directory has to be different

1.) It's windows 7 enterprise with service pack 1.
2.) It was the first install so the ORACLE_BASE is not an issue
3.) There is no install log that I can find as that would be in the program file\oracle\inventory\log directory, which doesn't exist

The documents you reference are for compatability, installation and operability between 32 and 64 bits...none of which is my problem. I know how to install the software and have 32 and 64 bit version work on the same box...my problem is some issue that does not allow me to install 32 bit software on some 64 bit boxes but not others.
