I have two tables, owned by two different users. One is for data that is being actively processed and one for data that is being stored for short-term archiving purposes. They both have the same XML Schema registered to one of their columns, but the XML schemas are registered under the respective table owners. Therefore, the data in the corresponding columns is not easily moved from the active table to the archive table.
I would like to re-register the schema once, globally, and correct the existing tables to use the globally-registered schema. The archive table has 250 million rows where the XML data is approximately 10k per row, so we are not dealing with a small table. What is the least painful way that I can accomplish this?
