      hello.

In the process of Cobol convert, what exactly role have the configuration file "conv-ctrl-file" (generated by process "file-to-oracle" ) ?
It has any impact in the cobol programs compiled for the Art Runtime?

      Thanks !

          Hi,

The Reference Guide of Workbench described the details of this "Conv-ctrl-*" files. They contain information about file-to-RDBMS conversion, e.g. to define which logical files (FDs) are converted into RDBMS tables (actually, because the physical files they are associated with are converted to these DB tables).

          Please see following two sections.
          1. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35855_01/artwb/docs12c/wbref/CobolConverter.html#wp1091885
          2. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35855_01/artwb/docs12c/wbref/CobolConverter.html#wp1092577

This configuration file is used during the COBOL conversion phase, I think the converted COBOL programs can be compiled at Runtime without this file.

            thanks for your response.

Imagine that scenario: we completed the migration of several CICS programs to Tuxedo: File-to-Oracle (VSAM to Orace Tables). now the client adds a new field in a VSAM file and in the COBOL programs. Instead of making all changes with Tuxedo Art, can we change the file RM_<logical_file>.pco (generated in the file-to-oracle process) by hand to add the new filed, and take the compiled program to Art Runtime (make changes of file-to-oracle by hand)?

            Thanks

              Hi,

I think you can modify the pco files directly, as long as you can assure that the changes are consistent with other programs of your application.
