Failure in Solaris Initialization through VMWare Player
Oct 15, 2012 8:16 AM
I have a Solaris 10 09/10 OS and I access it using Vmware player.
There arised a need to increase swap space in solaris so i did it in the following manner :
swap -l gave me the name of the file and its path
I added a new swap file of 1 GB and activate it with swap -a.
Now when I turn on the Vmware player it doesnt start.
I am getting the following error :
Mount: the state of dev/dsk/c0d0s7 is not okay and it was attempted to be mounted read/write
c0d0s7 was also present in the same folder where i placed my new swap file. But i did not modify it at all
c0d0s1 was the swap file and in the error the file is diff. it is c0d0s7.
Need help on it.

in response to
will you please boot the os into failsafe mode and remove the attached swap file and try to boot.
after still its not booting, try to manually mount the /dev/dsk/cxdxcx in safe mode.
and take backup .unmount run fsck fro any file system inconsistency
