we are using OEM 12c version 12.1
i was told that we could monitor weblogic servers availability and critical states using OS scripts by creating Metric Extensions in OEM 12c.
so that everytime the Weblogic server is down OEM will shoot an email to the DBA's
has anyone done that yet if so can you please walk me through the process.
Yes, EM actually does this out of the box as part of WLS Management Pack EE. You don't need to write scripts to be alerted on availability or any other WLS metric. In addition, from the DBA perspective, you may want to use the JVM diagnostics feature which links JVM threads to DB sessions (not just the SQL statement) and allows bi-directional navigation up to the JVMs and WLS from SQL calls or DB sessions and visa versa to help proactive communication in production environments.
Thanks for the reply
we have other stuff to monitor from OEM 12c cloud control
like Application server, apache, process scheduler availablity and critical states
can you please help me out on that.
