We have observation on Java-7 update-7 than update-5.
In my web service we are doing LDAP operations.
With update-5 , execution time is taking more than 4 mins. But in update 7 time is 5sec.
Can some body help me , are there any performance fixes available in update-7?.
Or else they fixed a bug. No LDAP operation should take 4 minutes.
The list of updates from 7u5 to 7u7 are provided in the release notes - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/7u-relnotes-515228.html . There is an alternate hash function performance enhancement that is included in 7 u6 but that does not necessarily imply the difference in performance times that you are seeing for the LDAP operations.
Are you seeing the same performance improvement in the latest release 7 u9 ? or are you constrained to using update 5 ?
