Can I appear for IZO 042 before appearing for IZO 047.1Z0-042 is Oracle Database 10g: Administration I
1Z0-047 is Oracle Database SQL Expert
Other than the fact that both are Oracle certification tests (in the OCA track), they have no connection to each other. You may take them in either order. This is true even of an exam that is obviously a follow-on, like *1Z0-043: Oracle Database 10g: Administration II*. If you wanted, you could take II before I.

I am currently preparing for Oracle 10g IZO 042 exam. I have also prepared for IZO 047 but need to give it some more time. Can I appear for IZO 042 before appearing for IZO 047.
I dont mind if it get my certificate latter. My objective is to certify for OCA and OCP.
And the result is actually really one big mess of problems. Making 1z0-051 a pre-req for 1z0-047 would help. ( dis-count-ing the 1z0-051 pass against 1z0-047 might be an interesting option .. probably would never happen).
I would suggest you make consider 1z0-051 in place of 1z0-047 in order to get your DBA OCA/OCP if you are find 1z0-047 hard. And 1z0-047 is hard for most hard working candidates IMHO
