What are your current OS and database versions ? Upgrading to the latest database version (11gr2) is recommended. Pl see the 11gR2 Upgrade Guide - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/toc.htm
Assuming you are on unix flavour(replace commands for windows)1 person found this helpful
1)Install 11gr2 database software
2)After installation go to $ORALCE_HOME/rdbms/admin/; copy utlu112i.sql to /tmp
And run the script on existing databases to check for prerequisites.
Please make necessary changes in the databases as per recommendations of the script
3) Take backup of your database
4) export ORACLE_HOME=<11.2 NEW HOME PATH>
type dbua----->it should pick from new home
dbua -silent -sid <instancename>
5)After upgradation, review upgrade log and check for component status in dba_registry and compile any invalid objects using utlrp.sql
the OS is Win-Sever 2003. So, what do i need to do? Can you give me the step of the process? Srini.
