There is an ODBC that would probably be more appropriate. Hopefully, one of the moderators will move this discussion over there.
Is there a reason that you don't use (and/or don't have installed) the Oracle ODBC driver? The Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle was long ago desupported by Microsoft. It uses the old Oracle 7 version of the Oracle Call Interface API that has been obsolete for ~15 years so it generally does not work well with newer versions of the client (or the database). You'll generally have a much easier time of it if you can install and use the Oracle ODBC driver instead.
