Unable to Log in to HFM  client and Workspace

    962380
      Hi,

I am not able to log in to HFM client and workspace.

Though I started all the services, the following services are automatically turned to “start” mode.

      1)     Hyperion Workspace-Agent service
      2)     Hyperion Foundation Shared Services-Web Application

I have reinstalled HFM more than two times due to these errors.

Pls suggest me to solve these problems.

      Thanks,
      sai

          Hi Sai,

For the workspace login issue do you see a login page? Have you reviewed the <EPM_SYSTEM>/user_projects/diagnostics/logs/services/* files?

Have you created an HFM application yet?

          Regards,

            Hi John,

I created an application and worked on it earlier. but the error has occured when I tried to login to the application for the seconnd time.

The following error has been shown when I am trying to open the Workspace page:

The system is not available due to Initialization errors.

            Detailed Error messages:

Have you confirmed you can login to the database on King? Is this SQL Server 2008 R2 (not express)?
If you install the telnet application can you do:
              telnet king 1433
Above line should give you a blinking cursor.

              Regards,

It sounds like either the SQL Server is not configured to allow for remote connections (in many versions you have to enable this) or TCP/IP protocol has not been enable for the database server/instance. (I don't believe TCP/IP is enabled by default). Additionally, you may want to take a look in the log files on SQL to see if it has any additional diagnostic information that might help you. Usually you'll find it at: %ProgramFiles%Microsoft SQL Server/MSSQLxx.xxx/MSSQL/Log where xx.xxx is the SQL version.

The part that has me a little confused is that you mentioned this was working and now it stopped working and that this has happened before? Is there some type of pattern to this?
