Hussein,

currently we are in 11.5.10.2, we are planning to use R12. we are using only oracle Assets.

1. How to migrate the data from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.2.3? could you please provide some idea or doc?

2 . How to avoid the reimplementation?

Thanks
Prince

By upgrading from 11i to R12 and in this case you do not need to re-implement.

    Hussein,

    Thanks for the information.

11i set of books and account will convert into R12 account structure(SLA) with upgrade.

I could not see the books in SLA (Accounting Setup Screen).

could you please give some idea on this?

    Thanks

    Hussein,

I did not run the pre-SLA. so , I would like to refresh the database from 11ii run with Pre-sla env to R12 environment.

I don't want to restart all over again(New installation).

how to refresh the database? IS there any document?

    Please give some advice.

    Thanks

You can run Post SLA in this case which is a valid option.

What do you mean by refresh the database? If you want to go back to 11i you can either restore from a backup or use Rapid Clone (which I believe you are familiar with).

    Hussien,

The reason I asked this question. After the R12 upgrade, I did not see the book value. So I created Tar with oracle.

oracle requested to execute the sql ,
    select set_of_books_id,name,short_name,chart_of_accounts_id from GL_SETS_OF_BOOKS;
its shows only two records including ( I created new sob in R12). but correct sob value is not there. some how the book value removed but we did not run any sql scripts against any instances.

    in R12

    TA_GL_SET_OF_BOOKS TA 101 (old).

    1027 NIST_GL_SET_OF_BOOKS NIST 101 ( i created recently)

where is our book value is hiding, If I run Post SLA will the those records?

    In production
    --------------------

    1 NIST_GL_SET_OF_BOOKS NIST 101 missing
    2 TA_GL_SET_OF_BOOKS TA 101

    Please give some idea.

Oracle ask to me set up new test cycle.

    Thanks

    Hi Prince,

Please update the SR and ask Oracle support if the Post SLA is an option here or not (if you miss running SLA pre-upgrade, you can run SLA post-upgrade so I believe you can go with this approach instead of refreshing the database) -- R12.0 and R12.1: FAQ for the SLA Upgrade: SLA Pre-Upgrade, Post-Upgrade, and Hot Patch [ID 604893.1]

    Thanks Hussien,

I Just wondering, how come the one SOB is missing, IF I run the POST-upgrade , will it work without the SOB?

    Thanks

I cannot really add on this since it is functional -- Please ask Oracle support for an explanation.

    Thanks,
    Hussein
