      Hi everybody,
I'm beginer in osb, and i have test with it.. but when i need to put in production i have some problems...that i need solve as soon as posible. .

      I have a drive Dell™ PowerVault™ 114x LTO4-120HH (IBM) mapping on RedHat 5.8.
      When i tried to configure:
      [root@cgtccmgmt dev]# sg_map -i -x
      [root@bosmgmt dev]# sg_map -i -x
      /dev/sg0 0 0 0 0 0 ATA WDC WD5003ABYX-1 1S02
      /dev/sg1 0 0 1 0 0 ATA WDC WD5003ABYX-1 1S02
      /dev/sg2 0 1 0 0 0 /dev/sda Dell VIRTUAL DISK 1028
      /dev/sg3 1 0 0 0 1 /dev/nst0 IBM ULTRIUM-HH4 B6W1
      /dev/sg4 4 0 0 0 5 /dev/scd0 TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L633J D250
      ob> mkdev -t tape -o -a bosmgmt.bos.local:/dev/sg3 Tape1

But then the server restarted and sg_map change:

      /dev/sg0 0 0 0 0 0 ATA WDC WD5003ABYX-1 1S02
      /dev/sg1 0 0 1 0 0 ATA WDC WD5003ABYX-1 1S02
      /dev/sg2 0 1 0 0 0 /dev/sda Dell VIRTUAL DISK 1028
      /dev/sg4 1 0 0 0 1 /dev/nst0 IBM ULTRIUM-HH4 B6W1
      /dev/sg3 4 0 0 0 5 /dev/scd0 TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-L633J D250

How i can configure it for this mappieng never change??
Now i'm configuring again and if i delete the drive for recreating show this error:

      ob> rmdev Tape1
Warning: removing a device to which a job is restricted will cause the job
      to become unusable.
Error: device Tape1 is referenced by active volume(s):
      DAY_ORAFS-000002

This tape is for testing and i need delete and label again but i can not change. How i can disactive it??

      Thanks in advance.

Upon rebooting a server, the addressing often changes. This means the addressing you configured within OSB is no longer valid and needs to be updated. You can configure persistant bindings in os or hba which will keep addresssing the same after reboot. This configuration is outside of OSB. There is a MOS note showing an example of how to configure persistant bindings with at os level.

You should insure that a drive is unloaded (ie no tape in it) before removing it from service.
