      OS to ASM copy.
      ASMCMD>cp -ifr /u07/backup/2_51551_733696727.dbf +FLASHBACK/archivelog/2_51551_733696727.dbf
      After this copy the file gets appended with some nubmer...

            Its not possible copy with same name because you are using different filesystem, and ASM does not allow that.

            Don't use ASMCMD command to manipulate database files (such as BACKUPSET,DATAFILES,DATAFILE COPY and so on)

            The RMAN is recommended to perform this kind of task.

            e.g
            backup backupset completed after 'sysdate -xxx' format '+FLASHBACK'  delete input;

            ## move archivelog to ASM

            BACKUP AS COPY ARCHIVELOG ALL FORMAT  '+FLASHBACK'  DELETE INPUT;
            It will move all backupset from filesystem to ASM and keep catalog/controlfile updated.
