As part of cloning I am copying appl, comn and ora top to a different server. After copying the overall size at directory level is slightly lesser than the source server. For example my appl_top in source server was 22.55GB and after copying it was 22.50 in the target server, same with comn and ora.
The source server is AIX p5 server and target server is AIX p6 server and the instance is 220.127.116.11. I am doing the cp in nohup mode. I have tried this two times and both the times there is same difference.
Will there be an issue?

I used cp -Rh. I wanted to know if these small difference can be ignored and proceeded with the next steps.
Thanks for the guidance. Now I have started the TAR on the source server so that I have to copy only one file to the target server and then untar it. Actually before doing this I tried the cp twice and the difference were identical both the times and I copied the files as root, so permission shouldn't be an issue right?
The source file was mounted as NFS and as I mentioned I was doing a cp in nohup mode. Any idea what could have gone wrong?I am not really sure why you have that difference in size, but we will get to know once you use the diff command (or after using the tar command). So, please let us know how it goes since you are using tar this time.
