I apologize upfront if I ask the obvious but I simply could not find an answer yet:
I like to know how to control the field length of page items of type select list in 4.2
(just like for a normal textfield: in case content is longer simply not all is displayed on screen)
What browser/version are you using?
What page/region template?
What form/item layout?
What content doesn't fit?
(Basically the best way to get help with problems of this type is to reproduce it on apex.oracle.com and let us actually see it...)
This question has been asked -- in one form or another -- several times. The solution that works easiest for me was given in decrease the size of select list column...1 person found this helpful
On the page with the Select List
go to Element,
under HTML Form Element Attributes put
Of course, you may want wider or narrower than 100px.
i forgot to mention this was a grid form derived via an SQL Query (updateable report) .
The given solutions do no work overthere (for me;-)
Sorry for that one.
i stumbled upon the solution by using:
Page > Repor Attributes > Column Attributes > Displays As > Popup Key LOVE (Query Based LOVE)
and then simply set the
Element Width = desired width, e.g. 10
Allthought I woud prefer a normal select list with width set to 10 (no popup, but a dropdown, which I like more), this works for me.
(the static variant does not work -for a static list-)
You are right,
I set up a demo environment for this type of questions.
For now I can continue, and thank you for your advise!
