Hi Everyone,

OS RHEL 5.5

Can anyone please explain how to configure log miner with oracle database 11g as we are facing some problem, need to analyze redolog files.

Please suggest how to install,configure,use log miner as i don't have any idea on this.

Thanks in advance.

    I am assuming that you will be doing on source database and you have access to it and column definitions are unchnaged.

    1)First restore the required archived redologs into some temporary location
    2)Personally i prefer, to examine the archivefile one at a time
    exec dbms_logmnr.add_logfile('/oratmp/arch/x1.dbf');
    exec dbms_logmnr.start_logmnr
    select sql_redo from v$logmnr_contents
    exec dbms_logmnr.stop_logmnr

    As we did not use dictionary, the statements will be displayed as

    DELETE FROM "UNKNOWN"."obj# <objid>"

    3)Once you have identified which archivelog file contains your interest of sql statements,
    to get sql statements in readable format

    EXECUTE DBMS_LOGMNR.START_LOGMNR(-
    OPTIONS => DBMS_LOGMNR.DICT_FROM_ONLINE_CATALOG);

    exec dbms_logmnr.add_logfile('/oratmp/arch/xxxx.dbf');
    exec dbms_logmnr.start_logmnr
    select sql_redo from v$logmnr_contents
    exec dbms_logmnr.stop_logmnr
