we are running RAC on AIX 5 oracle 10g patch 4. During day time time goes well. But at night time one a process run on application gives the error and process stops. When we log SR they say that it is problem of network. Application vendor says that network interruption occur between the DB tier and middle tier. Network usage also show high in AWR Reports
Kindly suggest how can pin piont the issue and resolve it.
If it is reported and identified (by a SR and AWR) as a network problem, why are you posting the problem to an Oracle RAC forum?
Surely you need network and router administration/configuration/troubleshooting assistance, and not Oracle RAC?
To pin point this issue , you can do below things
1.Gather N/W stats (usinf some monitoign tool like cacti) on n/w interface for incoming/outgoing traffic between specific time period when problem is faced
2.Also Get nmon report (being AIX , nmon can be configured) to identify the processess causing huge n/w IO
3.Typical Process & their utilization in step 1/2 can be linked to AWR/Statspack taken for problematic time period to identify module/sql's causing this issue
