All,

I am looking for adgentopfile.sh script in 12.1.3
Could not find it in $INST_TOP/admin/install

There is a file AD_TOp/admin/template but
it has only this:
====
..
# | FILENAME
# | adgentopfile.sh
# |
# | DESCRIPTION
# |This file has been stubbed out from %s_adtop%/admin/template. topfile.txt
# | will be created internally by AutoConfig in the CVM phase|
# |
# |
# | PLATFORM
# | Unix Generic
# |
# | NOTES
# |
# | HISTORY
....

====

As per my understanding, if there appltop.txt in $APPL_TOP/admin,
when executing autoconfig, topfile.txt will be generated using adgentopfile.sh
Let me know if I am wrong.

If its correct, where can i find the script adgentopfile.sh

I have searched through the forum but could not get any correct answer

    Thanks for the response Helios.
    Went through the links.

But we are not creating the CUSTOM TOPS here.
    They are already there.
And all the tops are defined in topfile.txt and hence we are getting the desired values of custom variables.

My question is, we dont have all the CUSTOM TOPS defined in context file.
As per m,y understanding, Auto config gets the TOPs info from CONTEXT FILE and populates topfile.txt and default.env
So, if we run the autoconfig again, will the topfile be overwritten?
    adgentopfile.sh is executed during autoconfig?

    Thanks

Yes, and you can simply have your custom tops in the context file or in the custom<CONTEXT_NAME>.env file and in this case you do not have to worry about the topfile being poverwritten. If you are on R12, you also need to add it to the default.env file.

In addition to Hussein's post, you should add the custom tops in the context file manually like any other tops. This way when autoconfig is run the .env file will contain the custom tops as well.

    Thanks

    Thanks Hussein.
As per my understanding defaults.env will get values fromm topfile only (when auto config runs).
If so, why do we have to get the defaults.env updated.

    My concern is,
we dont have custom tops defined in context file. We have all the top in topfile.txt
And we have executed autoconfig manytimes but topfile is not overwritten,

I want to understand the process.

    Thanks

Add it manually in case it is not there, which also depends on the AutoConfig patchset level you are on.

Why not adding themt to the context file? Any specific reason?

I have my custom tops in the context file, custom<CONTEXT_FILE>.env file and in the default.env file. AutoConfig should take care of the other files once it is run.

    Thanks,

    Hi Hussien,

"I have my custom tops in the context file, custom<CONTEXT_FILE>.env file and in the default.env file. AutoConfig should take care of the other files once it is run."

    - Once it is in Context file, why do we have to have it in defaults.env
As per my understanding, topfile.txt and defaults.env should get the values of TOPs from context file.
But it seems it is not. Am i right?

    Thanks

You need to create your own AutoConfig template file.
