Installing and Configuring Commerce Reference Store

Hi

I am following the steps for installation and configuration of commerce reference store on

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24152_01/CRS.10-1/ATGCRSInstall/ATGCRSInstall.pdf
I have installed ATG10.0.3 and CommerceReferenceStore10.0.3.2.

I started Weblogic and MySQL Server.

I have followed the step in the guide

Configuring Commerce Reference Store
After running the installers, you must configure and build an ATG server that runs Commerce Reference Store.
To configure Commerce Reference Store:
1. In a Windows command prompt, change directories to the Commerce Reference Store eval
directory;
On Windows, enter
cd c:\ATG\ATG10.1\CommerceReferenceStore\Store\eval

2. Enter one of the following commands to configure Commerce Reference Store.

On Windows, enter:
configureEval.bat

The message that I am getting is :

C:\ATG\ATG10.0.3\CommerceReferenceStore\Store\eval>configureEval.bat
Evaluation Configuration is not available with a Weblogic application server.
Press any key to continue . . .

The Question that Do I need to install JBoss and reinstall ATG Commerce to point to JBoss installation instead of pointing to Weblogic as was done in my case.

Thanks

I am following the steps for installation and configuration of commerce reference store on

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24152_01/CRS.10-1/ATGCRSInstall/ATGCRSInstall.pdf
    I have installed ATG10.0.3 and CommerceReferenceStore10.0.3.2.
The documentation which you seem to be referring is for ATG/CRS10.1 which does support evaluation install with Weblogic. However, since you are on ATG/CRS10.0.3 so you should refer to following docs where you will find only JBoss mentioned in the evaluation installation requirements:

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22630_01/CRS.1002/pdf/ATGCRSInstall.pdf
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22630_01/CRS.1002/pdf/ATGCRSOverview.pdf

So you can try development installation as Praveer suggested and you can select "No Publishing" or "Storefront without publishing" options during the CIM configuration if you do not want ATG CA/BCC setup.
The Question that Do I need to install JBoss and reinstall ATG Commerce to point to JBoss installation instead of pointing to Weblogic as was done in my case.
In case you do want to go with evaluation install only then you can install JBoss and then update your existing ATG installation to point it to use JBoss. For that you can update dasEnv.bat file present in <ATG>\home\localconfig by commenting the Weblogic specific environment variables and setting the JBOSS_HOME & JBOSS_VERSION environment variables like:

    set JBOSS_HOME=C:\jboss-eap-5.1\jboss-as
    set JBOSS_VERSION=5.1

Actually there are certain other files also (within <ATG>\home\installconfig) where the information about the chosen app server is written during the ATG installation so ideally those should also be updated. But I think for doing CIM based configuration and running applications it should be fine if you just change dasEnv.bat as mentioned.

    Hope this helps. Thanks.

Looks like the development version does not support the weblogic latest version as shown below. Do I need to uninstall the WL version 12.1.1.0 and install the suggested version 10.3. That would also mean that I have to uninstall and install ATG Commerce again ?

Choose Application Server: (* = Currently selected )

    *[1] JBoss Application Server
[2] Oracle Weblogic Online (Either Production or Developer Mode)
    [3] IBM Websphere Application Server
    [4] Apache Tomcat (Development Only)
    [5] Raw Ear Output Mode

    Select one > 2

    -------ENTER WEBLOGIC HOME PATH------------------------------------------------

    enter [h]elp, [m]ain menu, [q]uit to exit

    Enter Path : > C:\home\myhome\mywls\wlserver

    >> Weblogic path validated.

    >> invalid Weblogic version current:12.1.1.0 supported:10.3

    Enter Path : [[C:/home/myhome/mywls/wlserver]] >

yeah , you will have to install 10.3,

No Need to reinstall , just update dasEnv.bat as Nitin suggested.

    Ok I installed wlserver_10.3

    and modified dasEnv.bat as follows

    set WL_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3

    set WL_VERSION=10.3

    set ATGJRE=C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_09\bin\java

CIM is attempting to contact t3://localhost:7001

Do I uninstall ATG Commerce / Commerce Reference Store and install it again and point it to the newest installed wlserver_10.3

    Hi,

After installing weblogic , create a domain , start the admin server , then try.

Whiile installing WL it asks you to create the domain and start the admin server as a last step.

    Thanks

Not sure , if this can be related or not ,

the java you are using is not compatible for ATG 10.0.3

either use set jdk160_25 as recommended by ATG.

    I use 160_24 provided with weblogic 10.3

    for me : set ATGJRE=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\java

Made the changes in my environment variables to point to newly installed version of weblogic

    JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_29

    MW_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware

    WL_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3

The seems to have taken care of the error.

I am at the following step in

    WebLogic
To assemble and deploy your ATG applications on WebLogic:

-------WEBLOGIC ONLINE REGISTER DATASOURCES - ATGPUBLISHING--------------------
    enter [h]elp, [m]ain menu, [q]uit to exit

Weblogic Online Register Datasources - ATGPublishing

    >> Prologue registered datasources for ATGPublishing

    >> Appended datasource to register ATGProductionDS for ATGPublishing

    >> Appended datasource to register ATGSwitchingDS_B for ATGPublishing

    >> Appended datasource to register ATGSwitchingDS_A for ATGPublishing

    >> Appended datasource to register ATGPublishingDS for ATGPublishing

    >> postlude Registered datasources for ATGPublishing

    -------DATASOURCE REGISTRATION FAILED-------------------------------------------
    enter [h]elp, [m]ain menu, [q]uit to exit

Where did I go wrong ?

I have earlier configured Publishing Datasource using cim and connection to publishing database was successful.

    -------CONFIGURE DATASOURCE PUBLISHING------------------------------------------
    enter [h]elp, [m]ain menu, [q]uit to exit

    [C] Connection Details - Done
    *[T] Test Connection
    [S] Create Schema
    Import Initial Data
    [D] Drop Schema
    [O] Configure Another Datasource

    > T

    -------TEST DATASOURCE CONNECTION-----------------------------------------------
    enter [h]elp, [m]ain menu, [q]uit to exit

    Publishing

    >> Connection to database pub @ jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/publishing is
    successful

I configured publishing data source in weblogic admin console directly to get past the error that I was getting while starting ATGPublishing server.

    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin>startManagedWebLogic.cmd ATGPublishing

Earlier due to "-DATASOURCE REGISTRATION FAILED" error, there was an error while starting up ATGPublishing server.
