Hi,
I’d configured DR for our instance but is unable to login on the instance.
Enter user-name: / as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

Enter user-name: sys
Enter password:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
Process ID: 0
Session ID: 0 Serial number: 0

Enter user-name: sys@TEST
Enter password:
ERROR:
ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect
Descriptor

We use to login on our primary server as sysdba and think the same should be for DR database also.
Please help.

    Hello;

    Did you copy and rename a password file for the Standby database?

    Also can you provide the oracle version?

    post form standby

    $lsnrctl status
    $lsnrctl services

    When oracle service not registered with listener, this kind of errors will be occurred.
    Set the LOCAL_LISTENER & Register manually as below in standby and post

    SQL>alter system register;

    Double check your ORACLE_SID for a typo

    To avoid listener.ora issue create a static entry on the new server ( Examples in links below )

    Generally if the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora are working for Data Guard, you can avoid this error.

    Assume you have :

    remote_login_passwordfile='EXCLUSIVE'

    Also in Oracle 11 you must copy not create the password file on the new Standby.

    Have solid notes here :

    So after successfully configuring DR you having trouble?
    1) any recent changes?
    2) check for the users and relevant group permissions
    $id
    3) Are you able to connect from Primary to standby database?
    4) Still any of the background processes are running or not?
    $ps -ef|grep ora_
    5) Also check the status of listener
    $lsnrctl status

    Hi

    Password should same as primary database in standby database for 'sys' user.

    So, keep same password for both the instances

    Thanks

    Hi,
    plz check your listener.ora fine in oracle_home/network/admin and make sure the standby db sid in mention in that,
    if not then make an entry in that file for your standby,and restart the listener,and check your password file also on standby.
