user existence lookup in EmbeddedLDAP.data

Folks,

I want to do a lookup for a user if exists in Home >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Users and Groups in command line using automated way by shell script commands.

By going through the documentations I found "EmbeddedLDAP.data" is the file used to store user informations(in default installations) . Once I added the user I can see this file getting updated and by doing "grep" the search returns the results.

However after deleting the user I do not see the file EmbeddedLDAP.data gets updated(EmbeddedLDAP.trans gets updated) and the grep still matches the results.

So the question is at "file system level" how do I lookup for an user while I am using Embedded LDAP for authentication ?
