I have upgraded database successfully from 10.2.0.4 to 22.214.171.124. Now I have directories like 10.2.0 and 11.2.0. How I can I delete 10.2.0?
init.ora file is mentioning 10.2.0 paths for control file,data files. Any option to delete 10.2.0 directory without creating control file.
- > Normally companies keep both directoried ?
Please suggest best mehtod on this.
Pl post exact OS details, along with a link to the document you followed for the upgrade. Looks like your database files have the value "10.2.0" hardcoded in the file paths, which is always a bad idea :-)
One option is to rename the 10.2.0 datafile directories to something generic, then use the ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE RENAME clause to correct the location in the control file.
How to Rename or Move Datafiles and Logfiles [ID 115424.1]
For the control files, shutdown the database, rename the 10.2.0 hardcoded path to something generic, modify the init.ora file to reflect the new locations of the control file, then startup the database.
Pl ensure that you have a good cold backup before attempting this.
OS - RHEL 5.5 32 bit
After upgrding database , am getting below value for timeszone.
SQL> select * from v$timezone_file;
Please tell me what is the required version for 126.96.36.199 and how I can achieve the same.
