Is there a way to host javadocs which allows discussion on the pages?

This question is more about hosting the javadocs than creating them.

I seem to remember a website for Java API javadocs (jdk1.4 or jdk1.5) which would allow people to comment or post examples on the javadoc pages. Some of the best examples, warnings, and use cases were in those discussions.

Does anyone know of a tool that supports this kind of functionality for the javadocs we generate?

          Not really.

          http://www.jdocs.com perhaps?

I'm pretty sure its just a custom built website. Especially in the era you describe (Java 1.4/1.5) generic web services you cold plug & play were not common. With a bit of luck you could download a forum with nightmarish installation procedures.
