Scripts execution 11g R2

We have a requirement to execute script (perl and/or shell) that reside on a different machine to complete the provisioning process, can we do this in OIM 11g R2? What should be the approach here?

Yes, you can do this. It simple.
1)Develop one java code with all requirements and tasks that you should do.
2)provide dynamically the 'different machine' values as input on your java code.
3)Then deploy this as a jar client file and call this script using java -jar into your shell script.
It is simple like this.
