Hi Gurus,
I want to upgrade my oracle database from 9.0.1.1.1 to 11g.
below are my queries
1) It is possible to directly upgrade from oracle 9.0.1.1.1 to 11g?
2) If not, then what are the options available to upgrade.
3)what are the pre-requisite and checks that i need to refer?
4)What is the downtime for this kind of oracle upgrade?

my hardware version:
Microsoft windows server 2003,SP2
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU
X5650@2.67GHz
4GB RAM.

Thanks,
Meena

    Hi,

read the upgrade manual for the 11.2 upgrade. In this manual the possibilities of the upgrade are mentioned. A direct upgrade from 9.0.1.1.1 is not possible, you need to upgrade to 9.0.1.4, then to 10.2.0.4 and then 11.2. Another option is to use export/import.

    Read the manual: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e23633/preup.htm

Downtime is also dependent on the size of the database, so no estimate can be made.
