    Issues with DBconsole. Help requested

    946212
      Hi all,
We have a production database 11.1.0.6.0 Ent. Ed running on a Windows 2003 R2 6b bit box.

We have checked the dbsnmp account is open & can connect with the current password. Please advise as what the problem may be and how i can fix this.

      Many thanks!

          Check MOS notes :
Agent Unable to Connect to OMS With Error = 10061 No Connection Could Be Made Because the Target Machine Actively Refused it [ID 336432.1]
Receive "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" Error When Logging In To The IPM Web Client [ID 552101.1]

            thanks for your reply.

As per the document, i've re-started the EM agent and has made no difference.

For doc.552101.1, it may not relate to us as we don't have Oracle Web Support Services service in services.msc

            Any other thoughts?
            Regards,

yes that is the exact step i've followed. The agent is up post bounce.

We have asked around and no one has made any changes. So they say.

This is what appears when I login as sysman. Hope i'm allowed to post image shots.

All the others tabs appear to work fine except for 'performance' tab. When clicked it takes ages to load and then returns with IE cannot display webpage.

                          Clean :)

                          Error: ORA 3113
                          Text: end-of-file on communication channel
                          -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cause: An unexpected end-of-file was processed on the communication channel.
The problem could not be handled by the SQL*Net, two task, software.
This message could occur if the shadow two-task process associated with
a SQL*Net connect has terminated abnormally, or if there is a physical
failure of the interprocess communication vehicle, that is, the
network or server machine went down.

Action: If this message occurs during a connection attempt, check the setup
files for the appropriate SQL*net driver and confirm SQL*Net software
is correctly installed on the server. If the message occurs after a
connection is well established, and the error is not due to a physical
failure, check if a trace file was generated on the server at failure
time. Existence of a trace file may suggest an Oracle internal error
that requires the assistance of customer support.

not sure it helps but this is an extract from our emagent.log when I bounced this morning:

Yes its helps ;) actually it is bugs and you have to check MOS notes about it I saved this notes from long time it could be useful for your case also

The agent processes have to know the correct passwords for SYSMAN and/or DBSNMP users, and so those are stored in their respective xml configuration files. I don't have the references handy but there are two specific notes on MOS about this. If you'll search MOS for 'change dbsnmp password' and 'change sysman password' I'm sure you'll turn them up.

Thanks. the doc id u sent refers to 10g database and we are on 11.1. Did a search and found this doc 739993.1. Do you think this is worth a try even though "timeout" just occured once. I'm guessing this wont screw the dbconsole to what we have at the moment?

                                  regards,

You can try it , just backup config file before editing .
