I came across Endeca Information Discovery article on the Rittman Read website. So, am curious and interested in learning Endeca(Information Discovery), I am looking for someone guidance on where to start and what to do. I would be thankful for all the valuable inputs.
Also, I could not understand what Endeca Commerce and Guided search are about. And are they in anyway related to the Information Discovery ? If so, where do I start?
I do have some experience on ETL/ Reporting.
Than You for your time and help.
You can learn more about EID on our OTN page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/endeca/overview/index.html
And, more specifically, on the "Learn More" tab, we have an outline of a "Getting Started with EID" screencast series available on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF23635ACA47F1E6D&feature=plcp
That is the best place to get started with our product.
Regarding the Endeca Commerce/Guided Search product - that product is a version of Endeca for the commerce market, rather than the BI market. Before Endeca was acquired by Oracle, we had two product lines: InFront (eCommerce focused) and Latitude (BI focused). These two products have been split into different LOBs at Oracle. You can learn more about Endeca Commerce here: http://www.oracle.com/us/products/applications/commerce/endeca/overview/index.html
Integrator (aka Clover) will remain the out of the box ETL tool for the foreseeable future; however we are very interested in supporting the existing ODI install base. Oracle revenue recognition rules prevent us for sharing exact features of future release so stay tuned for future release announcements.
