Why SAP require a Shared Oracle Home for software Database

We must to migrate a RAC SAP CLUSTER 10g for 11gR2.
In the White Paper from Oracle (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=configuration%20of%20sap%20netweaver%20for%20oraclegrid%20infrastructure%2011.2.0.2%20and%20oracle%20realapplication%20clusters%2011g%20release%202%3Aa%20best%20practices%20guide&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC8QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.oracle.com%2Fus%2Fsolutions%2Fsap%2Fwp-o11g-rac-config-unx-303802.pdf&ei=Vf-tULapHYXk9ASu54G4Bg&usg=AFQjCNE7ITBSEgcJWCTtNMS15gwGTcAk7g)

      Say it:

Note: SAP with RAC requires a Shared Oracle Home. Oracle Grid Infrastructure software is installed locally on each node of the cluster.

My question is: Why SAP require a Shared Oracle Home for software Database?

I know that the Software SAP for Oracle Database does not work with Oracle Clusterware, ie, the runInstaller does not recognize the type of database installation, in case Real Application Clusters database instalation, according SAP.

SAP installs server-side s/w that uses Oracle RDBMS Home s/w.

Surely it is by far easier to install both these initially on a shared file system, as these s/w installation can simple be re-used on new cluster nodes when RAC is introduced?

The document basically states this on page 7 ("+With a shared file system...+").
