the installations give you the option to configure the mod_wls Package, but you are able to configure the OHS without using the mod_wls and afterwards configure the mod_plsql Module for the Apex installation.
Hi, thank you for the replies. I cannot use the APEX Listener, as I need to add another dad for a psp session that will be running from the same database.
This is why I would want to use Oracle HTTP, as thsi is the way I configure it anyway, without the bulk and license implications of running Weblogic server.
Is there a way to add another dad to the APEX Listener?
We also serve our application via a front end html menu screen, would Apex Listener facilitate this? I would need http://myserver to point directly at my index.html file, as it does currently.
As I have understood it, even OHS is a licensed product. It got embedded into WLS in 11g/OFM.
If you have an other version of OHS then you may deploy it stand alone, should not make any functional/feature difference for Apex or normal web servicing.
Given your requirements perhaps you could look at another alternative.
a. Use Apache Web Server (not OHS) as the Web Server.
b. Deploy a JEE container like Glassfish Community server (Open Source) and in it ApexListener. That will take care of Apex access.
c. Write rewrite/proxy rules in Apache to manage your redirection.
