Reg : Difference(s) between Oracle versions --

915396Nov 24 2012 — edited Nov 25 2012
Hi Experts,

Can anybody explain me the difference(s) in Oracle versions - 10g, 11g and 12c ?
With differences, I'm mainly concerned about the new SQL and PL/SQL functionalities.

Any reference material links?

Thanks In Advance,
Ranit B.

Well the Oracle docs are a good start ... but hardly complete. This may help.
11.2.0.1 - http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_in_11gR2.html
11.2.0.2 - http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_11_2_0_2.html
11.2.0.3 - http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/new_11_2_0_3.html

and I am working on one for 12.1.0 that I will publish as soon as the product is released.

Looking at the first post, OP mentioned 12g?

It is good to know if it is called 12g but looks like it will be 12c?????

But until it is officially released, the only people who know the answer to the OP's question -- as it relates to 12whatever -- are under nondisclosure agreements.

Those of us in the Beta have signed an NDA and can only disclose that which was put into the public sector by Oracle Corp., for example at OpenWorld, which isn't much.

But even when Oracle publishes its "New Features" documentation it will be incomplete as the links I posted demonstrate with respect to earlier versions and my lists are incomplete as well.

But as to 12g or 12c ... count on the "c" though it is never too late for Oracle to change its mind about the name, the feature set, or anything else. And that is why all of us, even Beta testers, must wait for the release of 12cR1 to know what is really in it ... and what it is called.
