Urgent: Contribution mode in SSXA

Hello,

I am working on SSXA application with UCM 11g.

AIM: I have to make one fields mandatory in contribution mode, so that it can't be null.

When we launch contribution mode we get few fields in Element Tab and few in Meta data Tab. I have to make one field mandatory under Metadata Tab. I have made that field mandatory in content Server and it works fine only once User visits "Metadata Tab". If user doesn't click "MetaData Tab" and remains in element Tab and saves the changes then we don't get mandatory message.

can we do something to check the null condition in Element Tab for metadata field.

Thanks,
MAK

This seems like a bug to me. I'd open an SR and see what Oracle recommends.

You could try to create some custom JavaScript code to hook into the update button to make it switch to the other tab before continuing. However, I'd follow the SR route first.

Again, I would first pursue an SR with Oracle. Changing Site Studio JavaScript can get messy especially if you are not very familiar with it.

If you make custom changes to the JavaScript you may need to maintain these when Oracle releases new versions/patches.

To change the JavaScript, you will need to view the page source of the contribution window and find the code for the button. You can then use a tool like Notepad++ to search for the code in all the files either under the custom/SiteStudio/ directory or under the weblayout/ directory.

This blog post may be of some help: http://corecontentonly.com/2011/09/28/11g-publish-static-files-using-custom-component/

I have not opened an SR. You will need to do this.
