Replace server in 2 nodes RAC

Hello!
I have question about replacing server in 2 nodes cluster (11r2 standard edition + linux)
If one node (node 1) fails (hardware issue), can I get local disk (on local disks i have operating system - OEL6 and binaries of oracle) and put them into new phisical server (but hardware identical to failed one).
After this operation, I have to add this node or this "new node" will be recognized as old node 1?
If this node wiil be recognized as "old" node 1, this operation is recommended by oracle?

Another question:
What would happen if new serwer has diffrent hardware?(another processor, mainbord)
Of coure my question is about oracle clusterware, not OEL.

    Hi,

You should use delete node and node procedure for replacing nodes in cluster. Details can be found from Oracle Clusterware deployment and admin guide.

Generally adding node with different capacity is supported as long as CPU architecture, network names remain the same as existing node in cluster.
