Hi,

os version : solaris 10

oralce version : oracle 11g

we are configuring ssh for User Equivalence ,

We followed the below steps
from node 1

ssh-keygen -t rsa
Generating public/private rsa key pair.
Enter file in which to save the key (/u01/ora_home/.ssh/id_rsa):
Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):
Enter same passphrase again:
Your identification has been saved in /u01/ora_home/.ssh/id_rsa.
Your public key has been saved in /u01/ora_home/.ssh/id_rsa.pub.
The key fingerprint is:
e6:63:c9:71:fe:d1:8f:71:77:70:97:25:2a:ee:a9:33 local1@vzhost1c
$
cd /u01/ora_home/.ssh
$ cat id_rsa.pub >> authorized_keys
$ chmod 600 authorized_keys
$ scp authorized_keys node2:/u01/ora_home/.ssh
still it is prompting the password if we do ssh node2 date

appreciated for any inputs

Thanks in advance

    Hello,

    On both the nodes, node1 and node2 perform:
    ssh-keygen –t rsa (Enter twice)
    ssh-keygen –t dsa (Enter twice)
    Now (from node1) add the generated keys to the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file
    cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    Then from node1 SSH to node2 twice and add the .rsa and .dsa keys to the “authorized_keys” file that locates in the first node:
    ssh node2 cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    ssh node2 cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    Now copy the “authorized_keys” file from node1 to node2:
    scp ~/.ssh/authorized_keys node2:~/.ssh/authorized_keys
    This should resolve your issue. If you feel that your question has been answered, then please close the thread by providing appropriate points and marking it as answered.

    Hello,
    ins-40906 duplicate host name found in the node information table for oracle clusterware install
    I suspect that at the time of adding the cluster configuration, you might have added node1 which was already available.
    At the step of Cluster configuration, node1 and node1-vip would already be available. You need to add node2 and node2-vip.

    Refer this http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/oracle-db-11gr2-rac-installation-on-ol5-using-vmware-server-2.php where Tim has explained with screen shots making it very simple.

    The key fingerprint is:
    e6:63:c9:71:fe:d1:8f:71:77:70:97:25:2a:ee:a9:33 local1@vzhost1c

    Its seems to like that your authorized keys are not append pproperly .
    Just check with more command more authorized_keys file having node 1and node 2 enteries as it is a manadatory procedure
    for ex: ssh local1@vzhost1c and must be having local1@vzhost1c entry

    please scp ur authorized key from node2 to node1 and then more autorized kyes must be having both the enteries.

    once u done with this goto node1 execute ssh node1 and ssh node1-priv and then go to node2 ssh node2 and ssh node2-priv

    From this it will not ask for the passwords.

    Hi,

    If you have Oracle Metalink Support, There is a step by step document on Oracle 11g R2 on Solaris Platform. The document will check all the pre-requisites.

    *RAC and Oracle Clusterware Best Practices and Starter Kit (Solaris) [ID 811280.1]*

    Thanks
