    Duplicate links in the repository: (What does it mean with zones)

    qwe25256
      One a Solaris 11.1 box I am seeing the new line "Duplicate links in the repository" appear in the Global zone /var/adm/messages following when I boot zones?

      # tail -f /var/adm/messages &
      # sudo zoneadm -z mailer3 boot
      Dec 3 11:58:53 cronus mac: [ID 469746 kern.info] NOTICE: net0 registered
      Dec 3 11:58:56 cronus dlmgmtd[50]: [ID 183745 daemon.warning] Duplicate links in the repository: net0

      I don't see this line in Solaris 11 boxes with zones. I am creating zones the same as always.

      # zonecfg -z mailer3 info
      zonename: mailer3
      zonepath: /zones/mailer3
      brand: solaris
      autoboot: true
      bootargs: -m verbose
      file-mac-profile:
      pool:
      limitpriv:
      scheduling-class:
      ip-type: exclusive
      hostid:
      fs-allowed:
      anet:
           linkname: net0
           lower-link: auto
           allowed-address not specified
           configure-allowed-address: true
           defrouter not specified
           allowed-dhcp-cids not specified
           link-protection: mac-nospoof
           mac-address: random

      # ipadm show-addr
      # ADDROBJ TYPE STATE ADDR
      lo0/v4 static ok 127.0.0.1/8
      net0/v4 static ok 193.61.29.17/24
      net4/v4 static ok 169.254.182.77/24
      lo0/v6 static ok ::1/128
      net0/v6 addrconf ok fe80::221:28ff:fe6a:c248/10

      bash-4.1$ sudo zlogin mailer3 ipadm show-addr
      ADDROBJ TYPE STATE ADDR
      lo0/v4 static ok 127.0.0.1/8
      lo0/v6 static ok ::1/128

      Is it just a warning and I can forget about it?

      Cheers

      Andrew

          Indeed, we have the same issue with our Solaris 10 containers.
          None of the network interface are visible since we upgraded to Solaris 11.1.
          Highly likely that we will have to fallback to 11.0

            You should contact your support representative regarding this issue (simply filing a service request will do). When filing the support request, you can reference bug 15799803, which you should also be able to find through the My Oracle portal by searching for SUNBT7178758.

            The information I have available to me suggests that it can safely be ignored at this time.

              For the Solaris 10 branded zones issue, please file a support request. You should also reference bug 15799803 (aka SUNBT7178758).

                Thanks for the information, I will make support call just to add my name to the bug reports. I thought is was causing me problems with routing, but that was not connected after all.

                Thanks,

                Andrew
