I am going to drop some columns which are not useful for longer. I am not sure whether it impact anywhere in the database apart from database views.you have to make some invesgtation about that to ensure these column not included with views , and not used by application .
Will it require Index rebuild? Could you please guide me which one have to check/do for drop the columns.No need for that.
- check Constraint
If the table size is in GB's, to avoid UNDO issues. You can use UNUSED, its like logical remove.
ALTER TABLE TEST SET UNUSED (col1).
Now col1 is not visible in table TEST.
SELECT * FROM USER_UNUSED_COL_TABS;----------->Info about logical drop columns
You can physicall drop using
ALTER TABLE TEST DROP UNUSED COLUMNS;
